The Wanda Project is a ballet-based contemporary dance company under the artistic direction of Dr. Wanda Ebright. Dancers are selected by audition and the company performs in ballet, Graham-based modern, and jazz genres. The Wanda Project serves as dance company-in-residence at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC.

Impulse Tango is the creation of Mark & Kim Mindel. Its’ purpose is to promote and grow traditional close embrace Argentine tango.  “Kim and I travel to dance and for me to DJ tango all over the south east.  We are the organizers of the Queen City Tango Marathon happening at the University Hilton in Charlotte next January 12-15.”  Impulse will be performing at Kimbrell’s on Main the entire evening. 

 

Christopher Maulding is a Fort Mill local of 19 years. He enjoys playing guitar and singing silly songs.  He’s dabbled in rock, jazz, folk, worship and campfire songs.  If you meet him while wandering up and down mainstreet you might just find yourself serenaded or humorously placed in the middle of one of his silly little poems.

DJ SPK is an Open-Format DJ, producer, program director, on-air personality, and creator/content curator for StereoTypez. She has solidified a host of gigs nationally to include BMW, Big Beat Fest, Microsoft, BOOM Fest, Mick Jenkins, PRIDE, resident DJ for FunkShun, and RAW Artists’ resident DJ (clt). As a DJ for Radio One’s 92.7 The Block, SPK is quickly establishing herself as a taste maker in Charlotte’s music scene. ”  @Crossings on Main

Rachel Lee Davis has been creating dances and teaching dance for over 15 years.  Never one to settle in a box, her choreography is a blend of multi-cultural styles with contemporary ballet, improvisation and modern technique.  The director and choreographer for FrameMaker Arts, Rachel is called to creating, articulating, and preserving culture the performing arts.

KM is a hip-hop artist hailing from Charlotte, NC!  A clear-deep often perfectly enunciated voice mixed with a southern twang is the sound of KM. His topics tend to hit on subjects young adults face on a daily basis and even shift gears to that of a more creative imaginary story-teller.  Website: Kmusiq.com @Crossings on Main

Emily Morgan and her dancers –  is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Winthrop University. At Winthrop, she teaches modern, improvisation, choreography, history, world dance forms. Emily is interested in interdisciplinary collaborative work, site-specific dance, and community dance.

 
The minor MAJORS – Jazz Violin and Keys duo!  Lois is a member of the Charlotte Symphony Junior Youth Orchestra and Holland plays with Charlotte’s Jazz Arts Initiative. Stop by Olive’s Art Gallery for some gypsy jazz and a few original arrangements!
 
David Csiszer and his music will be installed at LOOM CoWorking Gallery and Event Space throughout the evening.  Drop in for some great art, great coffee and GREAT Music!  And if you listen for a few minutes, you just might see some dancers and singers “pop in” to join him.
