Meet our Collaborators!

Hello artists!  I’m Rachel, the director and choreographer for FRAME.  Our mission is to create, articulate, and preserve culture through the performing arts, and one of the ways we do that is networking and collaboration.   Performers, choreographers, visual artists and creatives, please say hello to our featured collaborators for the Creative Mornings CLT Pre-show!

 

Stephanie Blackmon Woodbeck is a dance artist and teacher based in Hillsborough, NC. She earned her BFA in dance from UNC Greensboro and her degree in massage therapy from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York City. Stephanie is the co-founder of Tobacco Road Dance Productions, imaginatively connecting Triangle choreographers with critical experts to produce a yearly dance event. She has recently performed with Renay Aumiller Dances in Durham and John Gamble Dance Theatre in Greensboro; Alice Lee Holland and Kathleen Kelley in New York; and Erin Drummond, Alternative Motion Project, and Wicked Sister Dance Theater in Minneapolis, MN. Stephanie’s choreography has been presented throughout the country, including Dance New Amsterdam, The Flea, and Brooklyn Arts Xchange in New York, Moving Collective in Louisville, KY, the Minnesota Dance Festival, The Durham Arts Council, The Charlotte Women’s Dance Festival, and the Greensboro Fringe Festival. She strives to make thoughtful, highly physical, quirky dances and to inspire joy in her students. She lives in a busy home with her husband, two daughters, and two cats.           www.tobaccoroaddance.org

Amber Shockley lives in Rock Hill, South Carolina and has published poetry in Gargoyle, Rattle and Atticus Review.  This is her second appearance with FrameMaker Arts, and her first poetry collection, “A Brief Catalog of Common People,” is forthcoming from Main Street Rag! 

Emily Morgan and her dancers –  is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Winthrop University. At Winthrop, she teaches modern, improvisation, choreography, history, world dance forms. Emily is interested in interdisciplinary collaborative work, site-specific dance, and community dance. She has taught at the University of Texas, El Paso, El Paso Community College, University of North Carolina, Greensboro, Elon University, the North Carolina Governor’s School, and at a public magnet arts high school in Winston-Salem, NC. Emily holds an MFA in Dance/Choreography from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and a BA in Dance from Denison University in Ohio. She is also a registered yoga teacher.

Creative Mornings gives…

CreativeMornings/CLT gives our city’s fast-growing creative set a place to call home – to gather each month to get inspired, support each other, forge relationships and collaborate. We’re committed to showcasing Charlotte’s creative thinkers, makers and doers on a global level. To celebrate our city’s creative talent and show the world who we really are. Every CreativeMornings/CLT gathering is free of charge (thanks to the generous support of local sponsors and venues) and open to anyone to attend – you just have to register beforehand to reserve your spot. (Fresh coffee and breakfast goodness is on us.) You can expect a room brimming with the best creative energy you’ll feel any morning that month! Our goal is to send you into your day/life with a surge of inspiration, lots of new connections + ideas + perspectives + ways of thinking, and a big smile on your face.

Thousands of people participate throughout the year.  Hundreds come to each event!
